The Native Craftsmen of Quebec is a non-profit organization, founded in 1974 as part of a socio-economic program by the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development Canada. This program ended in the early 1990s. Since then, the Corporation has been self-funded and solely administered by members of First Nations from various communities in Quebec. Notably, it contributes to the economic development of Canada and has built a solid reputation among indigenous and non-indigenous artisans in the country.
The Corporation serves as a distribution center, offering businesses and artisans various traditional, customary, and contemporary materials, available online or in-store, and can ship anywhere in Canada by sea, land, or air.
The basic products offered mainly belong to the following categories: leather, beads, threads, ribbons, fabrics, furs, feathers, various natural products, and various tools and accessories for creation.
